USSSP: A Scout's Duty to God and Country - When to start a Religious Emblem

WHEN CAN A SCOUT BEGIN WORK ON A RELIGIOUS EMBLEM?

In most cases, a youth member may start work toward his/her religious emblem as soon as he joins a unit. However, some religious bodies require that he achieve a certain rank or progress award, reach a certain age or have been in the unit for a minimum period before he can receive the emblem. Details of when a Scout may begin work on a particular religious emblem are found in Part 2 of this book.
