ABOUT THE EMBLEMS:

 

      Love for God:  The Love for God religious emblem is for Cub Scouts between the ages of seven and ten years in grades one through five.  To begin the program the Cub Scout must have an adult study partner and keep a logbook.  Study for this award is organized in four sections:

 

      1.   Seven Ways to Love God - A study of ways to Love God.

 

      2.   Sayings - A study of 21 of the sayings of Meher Baba (Compassionate Father).

 

      3.   Stories - Includes readings and discussions.

 

      4.   Service Projects to benefit the Scout's place of worship and the community.

 

      Compassionate Father:  The Compassionate Father religious emblem is for Scouts aged eleven and older in grades six through twelve.  To begin this program the Scout must read Meher Baba's Message to Youth, Begin to Love God, and quotations.  The Scout must have an adult study partner and keep a logbook.  Study for this award is organized as follows:

 

      1.   How to Love God - Read and explain the seven messages of Meher Baba.

 

      2.   The Seven Realities - Read and discuss the Seven Realities

 

      3.   Prayers - Memorize three specified prayers and repeat them throughout the program.

     

      4.   Readings - Read seven of the 57 discussions of Meher Baba, seven stories or anecdotes of Meher Baba, and write your own Baba story.

 

      5.   Service Project to benefit the Scout's place of worship or the community.

 

      6.   Universal Message - Read the Universal Message of Meher Baba and discuss it.

 

      7.   Meher Baba's Life - Read a description of nine listed events and discuss.

 

      8.   Journey of the Soul - Make a creation chart and answer related questions.

 

      9.   Divine Theme - Complete specified readings and narration.

 

      10. Remembering God - Reflection and making a list of reminders.

 

      11. Special Places - Discuss four listed special places and write a short account.

 

      12. The Avatar - Answer five questions related to specified readings and write an essay on knowing Meher Baba.
